    Settlement Agreements

A settlement agreement, is a document setting out an agreement between an employee (or worker) and employer. Typically, the agreement is that the employee is paid a sum of money in exchange for signing away claims against the employer. For an employee, it is a requirement to seek independent legal advice. An employer will need to decide whether to continue with formal capability or disciplinary actions or instead offer termination by using a Settlement Agreement.
